1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the National Speakers Association — Southern California Chapter (“NSA SoCal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using nsasocal.org (the “Site”), becoming a member, registering for an event, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.
2. Who we are
NSA SoCal is an independent chapter affiliated with the National Speakers Association. We provide education, community, programming, and resources for professional and aspiring speakers in Southern California. The National Association is a separate organization with its own terms and policies.
3. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use our services. If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. Membership
Chapter membership provides access to member benefits, programming, and community resources as described on the Site. Benefits may change over time. Membership is personal to you and may not be transferred or shared. Certain benefits, content areas, or pricing are available only to active members in good standing, and access may be restricted, suspended, or revoked if your membership lapses or these Terms are violated.
5. Events & registration
We offer chapter meetings, the Speakers Academy, Demo Reel Day, and other events and programming. When you register for an event, you agree to any event-specific terms, schedules, pricing, and requirements presented at registration. Event details, speakers, dates, formats (in-person, virtual, or hybrid), and venues may change, and events may be rescheduled or canceled.
6. Payments, fees & renewals
Membership dues, event fees, and other charges are due as described at the point of purchase. Payments are processed through Stripe; by paying, you authorize the applicable charge and agree to Stripe’s terms. If your membership or any product is offered on a recurring basis, it may automatically renew and your payment method may be charged at the then-current rate until you cancel, unless stated otherwise at purchase. You are responsible for keeping your billing information current. Prices are in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise.
7. Refunds & cancellations
Unless a specific refund policy is stated for a given membership, event, or product at the time of purchase, the following applies:
- Membership dues are [REFUND TERMS — e.g., non-refundable / refundable within X days of purchase].
- Event registrations may be canceled for a refund up to [CANCELLATION WINDOW — e.g., 14 days] before the event; cancellations after that point are [REFUND/CREDIT TERMS].
- If NSA SoCal cancels an event, registrants will be offered [a refund / a credit] in accordance with the notice provided.
8. Acceptable use
When using the Site or participating in our programs, you agree not to:
- Violate any law or the rights of others;
- Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against anyone;
- Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems;
- Scrape, harvest, or misuse member data or contact information;
- Impersonate any person or organization or misrepresent your affiliation; or
